Job summary

Salvo Health is seeking a VP Finance to elevate our financial operations as we scale after our Series A. This fully remote role reports to the COO and can be based anywhere in the United States.

You'll own financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and strategic partnerships with the CEO on fundraising and partner discussions. You will mentor the Finance & HR Manager and shape cash planning, cost control, headcount budgeting, and regulatory compliance across a remote-first organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including VP-level roles in venture-backed startups.
• Experience with virtual health care delivery or tech-enabled services.
• Proven ability to build financial models, projections, and variance analyses in fast-growing environments.
• Experience mentoring finance staff (Controller, bookkeeper) and supporting fundraising processes.
• Strong Excel/financial modeling skills; familiarity with accounting systems (QuickBooks or similar).
• Comfort operating autonomously in a full-time, remote role.
• Excellent communication skills translating financial detail for non-finance stakeholders.
• Authorized to work in the United States and based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Strategic forecasting and modeling to drive cash-flow break-even post-Series A.
• Lead and mentor Finance & HR Manager and Recruiter; oversee bookkeeping, AP/AR, payroll, month-end close.
• Support fundraising with data room prep, cap table scoping, and board-ready metrics.
• Develop payer- and partner-facing financial models to support commercial discussions.
• Advise on cash management, banking relationships, and budget allocation across departments.
• Oversee monthly and quarterly financial reporting and internal controls in a scaling startup.
