Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Vice President of Valuation to lead and oversee complex valuation engagements for the firm’s financial advisory practice. You will mentor and guide valuation professionals, work closely with clients on strategic financial matters, and contribute to the development of methodologies and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
• CPA/CVA/AVA/AMAA or similar credentials are desirable.
• Ability to obtain FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
• 6+ years in business valuation or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and client-facing projects.
• Strong financial analysis, valuation modeling, and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Willingness to travel periodically.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business valuation engagements from strategy through final delivery.
• Manage project execution, timelines, and quality control to ensure client satisfaction.
• Review valuation analyses, reports, and deliverables for technical accuracy and consistency.
• Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor for valuation professionals across the organization.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance valuation methodologies, processes, and best practices.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development efforts.
• Monitor active engagements and proactively resolve project-related challenges.
• Stay current on valuation methodologies, industry trends, and regulatory developments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Professional credentials such as CPA, CVA, AVA, AM&AA, or similar are highly desirable.
• Ability to obtain FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
• 6+ years of experience in business valuation, transaction advisory, investment banking, financial consulting, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing client-facing projects.
• Strong financial analysis, valuation modeling, and project management capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Willingness to travel periodically as needed.

Expected Compensation

Base Salary: $130k - $175k

Discretionary Bonus: 15-30%
