Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting/controllership, with exposure to segment reporting or cost allocation.
• Familiarity with maintaining books and records of a bank or financial institution.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to build datasets/models in Excel for expense analysis.
• Experience translating cost/expense data into business-unit narratives bridging controllership and BU stakeholders.
• Willingness to innovate and implement new procedures to improve expense reporting and allocation workflows.
• Intellectually curious self-starter, comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and quarter-end close for corporate and business unit entities, focusing on opex, accruals and intercompany allocations.
• Assist intercompany eliminations and consolidation procedures related to cost allocations.
• Partner with FP&A on monthly expense analysis and ad hoc requests by legal entity, segment and BU.
• Serve as the primary controllership contact for BU stakeholders, investigating variances and ensuring P&L clarity.
• Own segment reporting deliverables and SEC disclosure support, ensuring allocations tie to source data.
• Review capitalized costs for accuracy and proper treatment within the segment framework.
• Analyze entity-level results for service entities and translate cost allocation methods into BU reporting.
• Support acquisitions and reorganizations from a controllership perspective and integrate new entities.
• Respond to audit requests related to expense reporting and segment results.
• Champion AI adoption to improve team performance and business outcomes.
