Job summary

Open Systems Technologies in New York, NY seeks a VP, AI Engineer to lead production AI initiatives and deliver enterprise-scale AI systems. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and partner with product, operations, and legal to translate business needs into scalable technical plans.

You will design, deploy, and monitor AI pipelines, drive API and platform standards, and ensure measurable business outcomes across the firm. Hybrid work arrangement in NYC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
• 7+ years developing production AI/ML systems using AWS or cloud-native patterns.
• Strong Python skills with mastery of CI/CD, testing, source control, and documentation.
• Experience designing and operating end-to-end ML pipelines (training, serving, monitoring).
• Track record of driving architectural decisions and mentoring engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead production AI systems (IDP, knowledge systems, agentic orchestration) for enterprise-scale workflow automation.
• Scope, design, deploy, and monitor AI projects from initial alignment to continuous production improvement.
• Drive API design, system architecture, evaluation strategies, and infrastructure standards across the AI/ML platform.
• Build robust, statistically sound evaluation metrics, benchmark datasets, and versioning systems for reproducible AI.
• Partner with Product, Operations, and Legal to translate business needs into technical plans and communicate risks/trade-offs.
• Coach engineers via code/design reviews and pair programming to elevate team capabilities and reduce technical debt.
