Job summary

The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) in Somerset County, Westover, MD, seeks Volunteer Activities Coordinators to develop and oversee a statewide volunteer program at a facility. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency for all levels.
• Experience planning, coordinating, and evaluating volunteer activities (varies by grade).
• Willingness to attend the Academy and obtain required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and plan a comprehensive volunteer services program in a State facility.
• Direct and supervise all volunteers and educate the community on volunteer needs.
• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers, interns, staff and visitors; conduct background checks and orientation.
