Job summary

LifeWise Academy seeks a teacher who combines in-depth Bible knowledge with strong teaching abilities to share the gospel in a classroom setting with public school students, both churched and unchurched. Responsibilities

• Complete Initial and Ongoing Training, including LifeWise Teacher Certification within 30 days of start date.
• Teach LifeWise Classes using the LifeWise curriculum and map curriculum customization.
• Maintain attendance and rosters, health concerns, and parent permissions.
• Maintain a clean, organized classroom and manage safety procedures.
• Communicate with school personnel and community volunteers; provide regular updates to the program director.

Job Description

• Complete Initial and Ongoing Training
  • Complete the LifeWise Teacher Certification Course within 30 days of the start date and prior to teaching in the LifeWise classroom
  • Participate in the annual LifeWise Summit each year
  • Attend at least one Teachers' Lounge or one LifeWise Meet-Up per year
  • Stay up to date on training and updates by regularly checking LifeWise email
• Teach LifeWise Classes
  • Utilize the LifeWise curriculum to lesson plan and map out curriculum customization
  • Implement the LifeWise curriculum in the classroom
  • Invest in connecting with students through building relationships and praying for them regularly
  • Cultivate an organized, encouraging and engaging classroom environment through various teaching strategies and discipline that is redemptive in nature
  • Apply LifeWise policies, procedures and resources
• Maintain Records
  • Take attendance in each class and provide attendance records to LifeWise program director and/or school officials as needed
  • Maintain accurate class rosters including health concerns, special needs of students and photo permissions as noted on parent permission slips
  • Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacher as needed
• Maintain the Classroom
  • Maintain a clean, attractive and well-ordered classroom
  • Know procedures for dealing with emergency situations
  • Purchase classroom supplies as needed using funds provided by program director
• Communicate
  • Act as a LifeWise Academy ambassador within the community
  • Attend annual school open house and other outreach events as available
  • Maintain ongoing dialogue with school personnel to stay apprised of class schedule changes and ensure student well-being
  • Build relationships with volunteers and keep them apprised of schedule changes
  • Submit regular updates, stories and photos to program directorPromote and communicate LifeWise's religious mission in all duties and interactions, ensuring alignment with the organization's core values and beliefs
