Valley Health System seeks a Volunteer Coordinator to organize volunteer staff and programs, including our Hospice End of Life Doula initiative. This role reports to the Volunteer Resources Supervisor and ensures compliance with Joint Commission and Medicare requirements while maintaining volunteer statistics and records.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, counseling or HR and at least two years of volunteer experience, with strong communication and organizational skills
To coordinate volunteer staff and facilitate volunteer programs, inclusive of our Hospice End of Life Doula Program. The Volunteer Coordinator works under the supervision of Volunteer Resources Supervisor to meet Medicare and the Joint Commission requirement of 5% of total care hours with volunteer contact hours. The position will implement sound administrative practices that meet or exceeds standards of Joint Commission, including but not limited to mandatory tuberculosis testing, infection control, safety training and systems for record keeping, as well as maintains quarterly volunteer statistics. The position will maintain a working relationship with Valley Hospital to ensure a coordinated volunteer program throughout Valley Health Systems. Maintains active membership in appropriate state and national organizations to keep current on volunteer management trends and best practices.
Bachelor’s degree required, with a concentration or certificate in Social Work, counseling or human resources preferred.
Minimum two (2) years of volunteer experience required.
