Job summary

OKC Beautiful is hosting an AmeriCorps Red River Community Corps member in Oklahoma City. This temporary, full-time role runs through August 31, 2027, with 1,200 hours across 9–11 months.

The position starts in October 2026 and includes a bi-weekly stipend of $654.09 plus an end-of-term Education Award of $5,176.50. Responsibilities include supporting program coordination, volunteer events, and development of informational materials.

Qualifications

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn; training provided.
  • Strong communication skills; participate in outreach events.
  • PM and research experience preferred but not required.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings and some weekends.
  • Experience in communications and marketing desired.
  • Willingness to develop project management and event planning skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with community projects and public volunteer events.
  • Develop and implement large-scale beautification initiatives.

Job description

This position is through AmeriCorps Red River Community Corps, a national service organization. This is a temporary, full-time position, ending August 31, 2027, with opportunities to continue if desired.

  • This position is 1,200 hours total over a nine to 11 month period.
  • Healthcare Insurance through AmeriCorps
  • Childcare coverage, if eligible
  • Position will start in October 2026.
  • Salary is a bi-weekly allowance of $654.09 and an end-of-term Education Award of $5,176.50.
  • You will be required to complete all AmeriCorps requirements.

This position would report to the OKC Beautiful Program Coordinator in facilitating community projects, public volunteer events, development and implementation of large-scale projects, and assistance with developing informational materials. The position will be tailored to the interests and skill sets of the AmeriCorps member.

Program Responsibilities:

The program would provide a wide range of experiences in volunteer event management and planning, research and development, project management, and data analysis. The program would include a mix of work within an office setting and out in the community.

  • Assistance with implementation of projects, including litter abatement events, pollinator garden plantings, school garden events, volunteer engagement, and more.
  • Research and planning for development of a large-scale beautification initiative to increase volunteer participation across programs.
  • Assistance with community meetings and outreach for neighborhood projects.
  • Organizing processes related to CRM and volunteer management systems.
  • Development of educational materials and resources for community members.

Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn! We will teach you and guide you through everything else.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to work at outreach events with large numbers of people.
  • Experience in project management and research is preferred, but not required.
  • A flexible schedule, with need to work events on the evenings and weekends up to a few times a month.
  • Ability to work with and meet many community leaders and a variety of people in Oklahoma City.
  • Development of project management skills and event planning experience.
  • Experience working in communications and marketing.
