Job description

Job Description Summary:
Children of the Nations Volunteer Advocates are an incredible group of supporters who share
about child sponsorship with their friends, family, and church community — helping more
children get sponsored so they can be raised up to transform nations. Each member of this group shares differently based on their particular gifts and the resources available.

Job Description Detail:

  • Help more children by sharing the life-changing experience of child sponsorship with others.
  • Join a community of people who care about helping children through child sponsorship!
  • Introduce Children of the Nations to your local church.
  • Be equipped with tools, training, and ideas to help you find new sponsors among your family, friends, and church.
  • From meeting your local team to COTN leadership, become connected to the larger ministry to children.
  • Attend meaningful in-person and virtual events to get to know other Volunteer Advocates.

Volunteer Advocates add meaning to their lives as they help enrich the lives of new sponsors and the children they sponsor. We believe sponsorship is a mutually transforming experience for both the sponsor and the child and is a way to live out Christ’s call to love the poor, the hungry, the sick, and the stranger. As a Volunteer Advocate, you are tangibly living out the Good News.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current COTN child sponsors are a plus but not required.
  • Strong faith and dependence on Jesus Christ.
  • Demonstrated and sincere interest in Children of the Nation’s ministry.
  • A commitment to serving children.
  • Ability to invest 1 – 2 hours per week in the Volunteer Advocate Program.
  • A friendly demeanor with an interest in reaching out to friends, family, and your church about supporting children.
  • Faithfully uphold COTN in prayer.
  • Strong commitment to uphold and support COTN’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Operating Principles, and Code of Conduct.
  • Advocates for our children, raising awareness of their needs and potential, and challenging and enabling those within one’s sphere of influence to greater involvement with COTN
