Job summary

Danville City School District – Westwood Middle in Danville, Virginia is seeking a Head Coach for volleyball (Bonner and Westwood). The coach will develop and oversee a high-quality program that emphasizes fundamentals, teamwork, and safety at the middle-school level.

Under the direction of the Athletic Director and/or Principal, the successful candidate will monitor academics to ensure student eligibility and promote high standards for academics and sportsmanship throughout the program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous coaching experience or participation in the sport at high school/college level preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and school administrators.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a high-quality volleyball program under the Athletic Director/Principal.
• Emphasize fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship while maintaining safety standards.
• Monitor academic performance to ensure athletes meet eligibility requirements.
