Job summary

Unalaska City School District is seeking a Coach responsible for developing and leading a competitive athletic program. The role emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth while instructing student-athletes in essential skills and strategies. Candidates are expected to promote academic achievement alongside athletic excellence.

The position requires organizing practices, instilling positive values, and ensuring safety and well-being during activities. Previous coaching experience and strong communication skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching and/or playing experience in the sport preferred.
• Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes.
• First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
• Must meet all district and state certification requirements for coaches.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct regular practices and training sessions.
• Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and strategies appropriate to the sport.
• Manage all aspects of game preparation, including strategy and player development.
• Communicate regularly with athletic directors, parents, and athletes regarding schedules.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
