Job summary

Napa Valley Unified School District is seeking a Volleyball Boys Junior Varsity Head Coach at American Canyon High School to lead and develop student-athletes. This role begins in February and runs through May, with some off-season activities expected, and includes a district stipend.

Applicants should have prior high school coaching experience in volleyball (varsity or JV), and must obtain First Aid/CPR and NFHS certification courses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of previous high school coaching experience in volleyball at varsity or JV level.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS SCA, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention.
• Willingness to work with ACHS staff, student-athletes, parents, administration and Booster Club.

Responsibilities

• Season runs February through May, with some off-season activities.

Requirements / Qualifications

Volleyball Boys Junior Varsity Head Coach position is currently being offered at American Canyon High School. Candidates should be experienced in the sport, have coaching experience and have a resume of working with student-athletes at the high school level. The following qualifications must be in place: Minimum of previous high school coaching experience in Volleyball either as the Varsity or JV assistant coach. Applicants will be required to obtain First Aid/CPR, NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching, NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest, NFHS Concussion in Sports and NFHS Heat and Illness prevention. As well as all other Napa Valley Unified School District Human Resources required documents. The season begins in February and runs through May, however some off-season activities are expected. The JV head coach receives a district stipend. Must be willing and able to work with our ACHS staff, student-athletes, parents, administration, and ACHS Athletic Booster Club. Must have basic knowledge of the following: 1)Character-building aspects of sports, including techniques and methods teaching and reinforcing the core values comprising sportsmanship and good character; 2) Knowledge of physical capacities and limitations of the age group coached; 3) Coaching principles related to educational philosophy, adolescent psychology, nutrition, risk management and the rules and strategies of the sport.
