Job summary

Independence School District is seeking a High School Assistant Coach to support the head coach and build a comprehensive extracurricular sports program. The role requires adherence to MSHSAA rules, safety standards, and collaboration with staff, parents, and community.

Qualifications

Must meet MSHSAA qualifications.
CPR, AED, First Aid Certification and NFHS Concussion certification is required.
Current Substitute Certificate is required.

Responsibilities

Coach assignments and other responsibilities under head coach.
Support an athletic program aligning youth, middle school and high school programs.
Maintain knowledge of sport rules and conduct in accordance with Athletic Handbook and MSHSAA rules.
Promote safe, positive environment and academic achievement for athletes.
Develop team morale and relations with students, parents, staff and community.
Assist in planning and placing a team on the field and manage substitutions as part of a plan.
Attend trainings with head coach and support offseason preparations.
