Job summary

Firefly Supported Living & Employment Services in Rolla, MO is seeking a Vocational Support Specialist to guide clients through career planning and job readiness. You will assess aptitudes, coordinate with employment partners, and help with applications, interviews, and accommodations as needed.

The role emphasizes soft-skill coaching, digital literacy, budgeting, and wellness education to empower individuals toward sustainable employment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassion, empathy and a genuine desire to help others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive evaluations to gauge aptitudes, interests, values, and transferable skills.
  • Coordinate with employment specialists, job developers, and HR managers to align efforts with client goals.
  • Identify job vacancies matching client profiles and assist with applications and interviews.
  • Advocate for reasonable workplace accommodations to remove barriers.
  • Provide ongoing training through workshops and courses and stay current with industry trends.
  • Teach essential soft skills: communication, time management, teamwork, leadership.
  • Equip clients with basic computer skills and optimize tech use for job searching.
  • Coach clients in financial planning, including budgeting and savings.
  • Educate clients on wellness maintenance, stress management, and healthy lifestyle choices.
