Job summary

The Division of Rehabilitation Services in Illinois seeks a Vocational Rehabilitation Case Coordinator to manage customers' case records, coordinate services, and support field staff in delivering vocational rehabilitation programs in the Elgin area.

This union position requires strong clerical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate with counselors, participants, and agencies. Travel for training may be required; a resume is optional.

Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of high school.
  • Requires two (2) years of clerical related experience demonstrating working-level proficiency and accuracy in keyboarding.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Vocational Rehabilitation Case Coordinator and coordinates customer case records and documents.
  • Meets with counselors to review case management activities and problems encountered.
  • Assists applicants, participants, families with understanding program rules, eligibility criteria, and related aspects.
  • Triages and prioritizes mail, email, phone calls, voicemail, and drop-in customers.
  • Interacts with field office staff and customers in person, phone, and email to facilitate services.
  • Performs other duties within the scope of duties enumerated above as required.
