School of Rock is seeking a Music Instructor in Seattle to lead instruction across five core areas: keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. You will design engaging lessons, deliver private instruction, and organize shows to challenge and inspire students, while maintaining a high standard of musical education.

The role emphasizes lesson planning, parent communication, and a passion for teaching within a growth-oriented environment. A working musician with formal training is ideal.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of teaching or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to work with a wide range of customers and people.

Responsibilities

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn the fundamentals of music, not just songs.
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans.
• Regularly communicate with parents on student progress after lessons.
• Be visible and accessible in the school and interact with parents and students.
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school.
