Job summary

School of Rock Brick is seeking a Vocal Instructor to lead private lessons and school shows, crafting engaging experiences that challenge students and develop performance skills.

You will teach core vocal techniques, music theory, and curriculum design while maintaining strong customer relations with families and students in a lively, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience teaching and/or performing music professionally.
• Knowledge of music theory and curriculum design.
• Excellent ability to deal well with a wide range of customers and other people.
• Strong organizational skills and customer relations.
• Resourceful, problem-solver, and able to work under pressure.
• Ideal candidate is a working musician with formal music school training and a passion for teaching.

Responsibilities

• Maximize quality of music instruction with private lessons and shows.
• Ensure students learn fundamentals, not just songs, and document lesson plans.
• Communicate progress with parents and stay visible and accessible in the school.
• Pitch in during canceled lessons and assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance.
• Adhere to the School of Rock Code of Conduct and safety policies.

School of Rock is a growing, passionate community dedicated to enriching lives through performance-based music education. With over 425 schools, and a strong internationally recognized brand, School of Rock is the largest after-school music education provider in the world. We put on shows to teach music! We are looking for a Vocal Instructor to join us at our School of Rock Brick location.

As a Vocal Instructor/teacher you will be responsible for all music education-related elements within the lessons and rehearsals, creating a dynamic experience to ensure students are challenged and inspired. The Vocal Teacher positively embodies rock and roll and is responsible for creating a valuable student experience that helps our students learn music and life skills.

We teach five core areas at School of Rock - keys, vocals, guitar, bass and drums. Many of our instructors have broader musical talent as well which we do our best to engage.

Music Instruction

• Maximize the quality of music instruction including private lessons and shows
• Be sure the students are learning the fundamentals of music, not just songs
• Create and document thoughtful lesson plans

Customer Connection

• Communicate regularly with parents on progress of students after lessons
• Interact with parents and students regularly by being visible and accessible in the school
• Pitch in during canceled lessons in the overall execution of the program
• Assist in rehearsals and basic maintenance in school
• Adheres to the School of Rock Code of Conduct, safety policies, including the Monitoring and Supervision policy.

Skill Requirements
