Job summary

Unitek College Of Nursing is seeking an experienced instructor to deliver nursing courses, including lectures and clinical rotations, across several times and on-site locations. The role emphasizes current nursing practice, safety, and engaging teaching methods.

You will mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings, maintain attendance and grade records, participate in committees, and ensure compliance with immunization and BLS requirements while advancing the program.

Qualifications

  • RN or LVN with active state license to teach
  • BSN with 3+ years bedside OR Associates Degree with 6+ years bedside
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
  • ATI Certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Current immunizations and BLS certification
  • Ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Teach nursing courses and clinical rotations at multiple times and locations
  • Maintain student records including attendance, grades, and clinical competencies
  • Review and revise syllabi per program guidelines and regulatory requirements
  • Engage in professional development and maintain CE hours
  • Collaborate on program data and reporting to Director of the program
  • Participate in committees and uphold teaching responsibilities as priority

Job Description
  • Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
  • Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
  • Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
  • Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
  • Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
  • Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
  • Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
  • Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
  • Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
  • Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
  • Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority
  • This role requires on-site collaboration with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Experience that demonstrates Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad understanding of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting
Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $90k (minimum), $100k (midpoint), and $110k (maximum).

Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the requirements set by the board of nursing below:

  • Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current unencumbered licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
  • You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
    • 3+ years of bedside experience with a minimum of a BSN degree, OR
    • 6+ years of bedside experience with a minimum of an Associates Degree
  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing.
  • Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
  • Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day-to-day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills, verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting.
  • Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 30 days of hire (offered by Unitek).
  • Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification.
