Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a full-time nursing instructor for its LVN program. The role involves teaching both lecture and clinical rotations, mentoring students, and maintaining clinical and academic records.

You will stay current with nursing practice, safety regulations, and CE hours to renew licensure, while collaborating on program development. The position offers opportunities for professional growth, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive college environment, with daily responsibilities

Qualifications

• RN or LVN with current state licensure to teach.
• 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN OR 6 years bedside experience with LVN/AD.
• Preferred: current immunizations and BLS/ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality of instruction using innovative teaching methods.
• Utilize online activities to enhance course content/material.
• Review and revise the syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines.
• Submit required program reports to the Director in a timely manner.
• Maintain current with new technologies and safety regulations.
• Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check‑offs.
• Update and maintain student files related to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements.
• Teach courses at varying times/locations as needed.
• Teach both lecture and clinical rotations (day/evening/weekdays/weekends).
• Participate in professional development and CE hours for licensure renewal.
• Participate in committees as assigned while balancing teaching duties.

We are looking for a full‑time nursing instructor for our LVN program. This is a full‑time position; no prior teaching experience is required.

Job Description

• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willingness to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising the syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and skills check‑off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assist with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to program needs
• Teach both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on weekdays and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, take responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participate in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority
• Experience that demonstrates current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad understanding of nursing sciences; successful handling of day‑to‑day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communication skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting

Pay Range

The annual pay range for this position is $90k (minimum), $100k (midpoint), and $110k (maximum).

• Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current licensure in the state in which you are applying to teach
• You must meet one of the following requirements set by the board of vocational nursing:
  • 3 years bedside experience with RN/BSN OR
  • 6 years bedside experience with LVN/Associate Degree
• Preferred: current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification or ACLS
