Job summary

MANTECH seeks a VMware Virtualization Systems Engineer to join our Chantilly, VA team. You will support the engineering, administration, and modernization of the sponsor's virtualization infrastructure, ensuring reliable enterprise-grade virtualization and end-user computing solutions across the environment.

The role emphasizes building and maintaining vCenter/ESXi environments, Horizon View desktop pools, UAG integration, and physical server management with HPE hardware.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Systems or systems engineering.
• Significant experience building, deploying, and upgrading VMware vSphere (vCenter Server and ESXi).
• Experience engineering and managing virtual desktop infrastructure using Horizon View Server and desktop pools.
• Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining VMware UAG for secure authentication.
• Experience inventorying, patching, upgrading, and troubleshooting physical hardware (HPE ProLiant/Synergy).
• Experience creating and maintaining infrastructure documentation for VMs, vMotion, and distributed workloads.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure, monitor, upgrade, and troubleshoot environments using VMware vCenter Server and ESXi hosts (v8.0).
• Create and manage virtual desktop environments by building and maintaining Horizon View desktop pools.
• Monitor Horizon View health and its interaction with vCenter Server.
• Deploy and troubleshoot VMware Unified Access Gateway with Horizon View Server.
• Patch and troubleshoot HPE ProLiant/Synergy server hardware and BIOS configurations.
• Administrate Windows Server OS (2019/2022) and Windows 11 on virtual and physical hosts.
• Maintain baselines and CMDB items using HPE iLO for out-of-band server management.
