Job description

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Communications Consultant/Chinese Translator with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 9+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate, proofread, and validate content in both Traditional and Simplified Chinese
2. Perform back-translation to verify content accuracy and alignment with original messaging
3. Conduct in-context reviews of translated materials as they appear in final formats (e.g., web, print)
4. Execute Language Quality Control (LQC) and Self-Assurance Reviews
5. Maintain Chinese language glossary and style guides
6. Collaborate with Language Service Providers (LSPs) on overflow and high-volume translation needs
7. Utilize translation tools, glossaries, and translation memory databases
8. Support ad-hoc linguistic projects across customer letters, internal communications, and digital platforms

Required Qualifications:

1. 4+ years of professional translation experience (Traditional and Simplified Chinese)
2. Experience in translating within the financial, legal, or corporate sectors
3. Familiarity with translation management systems (e.g., SDL TMS, WorldServer)
4. Experience using CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, MultiTerm, SDLX)
5. ATA Certification (American Translators Association)
6. Bachelor's degree in Chinese Translation, Linguistics, or related field
7. Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
8. 3+ years of transcreation experience for creative and marketing content
9. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities
10. Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office Suite
11. Strong attention to detail with a proactive and flexible mindset
12. Ability to work effectively in a virtual, matrixed team environment

Pay Range: $37 - $47
