Job summary

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1 year of related medical office or clinical experience.
• Experience with word processing and database software.
• Certification such as CNA, CMA, EMT/EMT-P, or Phlebotomy.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records and patient scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and register patients, direct to appointment areas.
• Record chief complaint, vital signs and basic health information.
• Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Order and schedule lab tests and relay results to providers.
• Prepare equipment and clean exam rooms for patient visits.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect payments when required.
• Communicate with insurance vendors for authorizations.
• Schedule appointments and manage physician master schedule.
• Maintain patient charts and medical records; perform filing and basic administrative tasks.
• Monitor supply inventory and assist with equipment/material setup.
