Job summary

West River Health Services in southwestern North Dakota is seeking a dedicated housekeeping individual to maintain clean and sanitary hospital and clinic areas. You will perform daily cleaning tasks, manage waste, and ensure supplies are stocked according to procedures, contributing to a safe patient environment.

Applicants should be able to follow isolation and safety protocols, work independently, and communicate workload changes to the housekeeping manager.

Qualifications

• Cleans all hospital and clinic areas: dusting, mopping floors, washing furniture and walls.
• Empty waste baskets from designated areas.
• Knows chemicals used and proper procedures for their use.
• Notifies supervisor when supplies are low.
• Follows inspection standards set by WRHS.
• Reports any mechanical issues using a repair requisition form.
• Performs other duties, sets priorities, and can work independently.
• Familiar with isolation procedures.
• Keeps housekeeping manager informed of workload changes.

Responsibilities

• Cleans all areas of the hospital and clinic as designated, using appropriate cleaning solutions.
• Washes beds and units and empties waste baskets in designated areas.
• Selects materials and supplies as needed; understands chemical usage and safety procedures.
• Notifies supervisor when supplies are low and requests replenishment.
• Adheres to WRHS inspection standards and reports maintenance needs.
• Reports any mechanical failures or repair needs via requisition form.
• Able to set priorities, adapt to changing conditions, and work independently.
• Knowledge of isolation procedures and safety requirements.
• Keeps housekeeping manager informed of workload changes due to activity.
