Visuals Producer, Social Video ADDENDUM

The Social Video‑Visuals Producer is a visual journalist who has sharp skills creating videos on social platforms, such as Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. This producer thrives on turning news stories into memorable vertical videos, while working with journalists in a collaborative process.

The Social Video‑Visuals Producer creates videos from start to finish – ideating, scripting, shooting, editing and publishing – and is highly collaborative with newsroom colleagues in order to tell these stories. Journalism ethics is a must, so you must know how to gather news – both with reporters and on your own – and tell stories on social platforms in a fair and accurate manner.

KQED envisions a public media organization with a culture that centers on human dignity, equity, and belonging. This will enable us to better serve and reflect the Bay Area through diverse and inclusive storytelling.

We value the contributions of marginalized people in society — including Black, Indigenous, and all people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ people — and we believe that these communities must be centered in the work we do, and we strongly encourage members of these communities to apply.
