Oregon Public Broadcasting is seeking a Graphic Designer and Animator to craft thumbnails, motion graphics, and animations for Oregon Field Guide and news programs. The role blends design and animation, requiring strong Adobe skills, data visualization, and the ability to handle tight turnarounds in a hybrid Portland setting.

The ideal candidate has a design or journalism-related degree, 1–2 years of experience, and a portfolio demonstrating maps and editorials.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in design, fine art, documentary or journalism.
• 1-2 years of professional experience.
• Portfolio showing design, illustration and animation, including maps and data visualizations.
• Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills including After Effects and Premiere.
• Ability to work quickly and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate with non-editorial teams and maintain brand standards.

Responsabilités

• Create compelling thumbnail images for OPB feature videos on YouTube and the OPB video app.
• Develop original editorial motion graphics and animated sequences for OPB video shows.
• Produce quick-turn simple animated maps and data visualizations for news visuals teams.
• Assist with production planning and asset management.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices.
