Job summary

Target is seeking a Visual Merchandiser in Phoenix, AZ to create engaging guest experiences by planning and executing visual standards that reflect the Target brand and drive sales.

You will plan daily/weekly visual workloads with leaders, assess and adjust displays, train team members on signing and merchandising, maintain backroom organization, and support onboarding while upholding safety and inclusivity.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1–2 years of visual merchandising experience.
  • Minimum age 18 years.
  • Business acumen and creativity to inspire guests and drive sales.
  • Strong understanding of trends reflective of Target’s brand.

Responsibilities

  • Plan daily/weekly visual workload with leaders, incorporating sales goals, events, and promotions.
  • Execute weekly visual assessments and partner with leaders to improve store visual execution and guest experience.
  • Assess and guide the execution of visual standards across the store to elevate visual presentations.
  • Support and validate the execution of all visual presentations, partnering with leaders.
  • Set overhead spotlights to highlight key merchandising presentations.
  • Resolve merchandising issues and adjust sets to maintain inspiring presentations.
  • Teach team members visual standards, signing and affordability strategy, and how to create inspiring visual moments.
  • Maintain organization of backroom space and keep up to date with current signing tools and fixtures; set all non‑planogram ISM elements throughout the store.
  • Communicate and support team onboarding, continuous learning, and close skill gaps through training and hands‑on experiences.
  • Demonstrate inclusivity, ethical conduct, and safety compliance.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and engaging with them to solve their needs.
  • Perform all other duties required by business needs.

Visual Merchandiser – Phoenix, AZ

Pay: $22.00–$37.40 per hour. Compensation varies by labor market, education, experience, and certifications.

Job Responsibilities

As a Visual Merchandiser, you will support a great guest experience by ensuring visual moments are set and maintained according to company guides and visual standards to drive sales and inspire guests. Typical duties include:

  • Plan daily/weekly visual workload with leaders, incorporating sales goals, events, and promotions.

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capacity to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within timeframes.
Physical and Work Requirements
  • Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
  • Operate work assist vehicle (WAV) and pallet jack.
  • Interpret instructions, reports, and information.
  • Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
  • Climb ladders as needed.
  • Scan, handle, and move merchandise efficiently and safely, lifting up to 15 lbs routinely and up to 44 lbs occasionally.
  • Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance.
  • Remain mobile for duration of scheduled shift.
