Job summary

Acuren Inspection, Inc. seeks an AWS/CWI for travel across the Birmingham, AL area.

This callout position requires extensive travel up to 90% to inspect pressure retaining equipment in Petro-Chem and related facilities, ensuring compliance with ASME and CWI standards. Responsibilities include performing visual and NDE examinations, documenting findings, and providing technical recommendations for repairs or alterations.

Qualifications

• CWI certification is required.
• 5–10 years of experience or 2+ years on site.
• API knowledge a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of CWI and ASME standards.
• Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment per ASME and CWI standards.
• Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment.
• Provide technical input on welding and metallurgical issues.
• Ensure compliance with safe work practices and site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel up to 90% as needed.

Position Summary

Acuren is seeking a AWS/CWI for operations in the Birmingham AL area. This will be a callout/travel position.

Successful candidates must be able to travel up to 90% throughout Birmingham ALand surrounding areas. (The environments will be Corn/Agricultural, Petro-Chem, Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Gas Plants, Refineries, Pipelines and Pharmaceuticals.)

Responsibilities

• At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with Certified Welding Inspector standards and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
• Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition
• Provide client with technical recommendations for the repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters for durations specified by client
• Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues
• Provide technical guidance, on a application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures
• Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives
• Willingness to travel if needed

Requirements

• Certification of Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
• 5 – 10 years’ experience or 2+ years on site experience
• Additional API a plus
• In-depth working knowledge of CWI and ASME standards
• Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers
