The position entails designing branding materials for programs and fundraising, producing signage and collateral, and capturing photos/videos of events. StrongAdobe Canva skills and organizational prowess are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a minimum of three years’ experience in graphic design and illustration.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
  • Proficiency in photography and videography.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with ease.
  • Commitment to customer service and teamwork.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate with diverse guests.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Visual Communications Manager will contribute to Wonderscope’s mission by creating innovative, engaging, and functional visual communications. The ideal candidate will be a personable, self‑motivated, well‑organized, detail‑oriented individual who enjoys working in a diverse, playful, team‑oriented environment and supports Wonderscope's mission, vision, and values.

Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Develop branding and materials for museum programming
  • Develop branding and materials for fundraising events and campaigns
  • Design digital and print museum signage, ads, and collateral
  • Take photos and videos of museum activities and events
  • Create graphics for social media platforms
  • Work with printers to complete print projects
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a minimum of three years’ experience in graphic design and illustration
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva
  • Proficiency in photography and videography
  • Ability to work independently to manage and prioritize multiple projects, complete last-minute projects, and meet deadlines efficiently and with ease
  • Commitment to excellence in customer service and teamwork
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to genuinely communicate with diverse guests of all backgrounds and abilities
  • High comfort level working in a fast-paced, high-traffic, public environment

Hours of work:

Monday 9:00a-3:00p, Tuesday-Friday 8:30a-4:30p

Compensation:

$35,000-$40,000 salary, dependent on experience and ability. Benefits include health/dental/vision options, flexible PTO, and 401(k).
