Applitrack in Cape Elizabeth, ME is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Visual Arts Teacher to cover an extended leave. The role involves teaching ceramics, textiles, and 3D/fashion design, with hands-on kiln operation and sewing skills.

The ideal candidate has experience teaching high school visual arts or a strong background as a visual artist, with safe studio management and a commitment to inclusive classrooms.

Qualificações

• Experience teaching high school visual arts or strong background as a visual artist.
• Demonstrated kiln firing proficiency and hand-building/wheel throwing skills.
• Basic hand- and machine-sewing skills.
• Degree in Fine Arts, Studio Art, or Art Education preferred; MDOE teaching license or equivalent credentials.

Responsabilidades

• Instruct ceramics & studio tech: operate and fire kilns; teach hand-building, wheel throwing, glazing techniques.
• Teach textiles & 3D design: basic hand-sewing and machine-sewing for fashion/projects.
• Maintain a safe studio environment, oversee equipment care and inventory, enforce safety protocols.
• Assess student work, track grades/attendance, and maintain an inclusive classroom.
