Job summary

Los Alamitos Unified School District seeks an Instructional Aide to assist a certificated teacher in delivering comprehensive visual arts education for elementary through high school. You will help prepare materials, set up classrooms, and support students with diverse abilities while encouraging creative expression and safe, organized activities.

You will also help integrate art history into projects, monitor progress, assist with exhibitions, and participate in professional development to stay

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or higher, or currently enrolled in college courses.
• Experience with youth in organized settings preferred.
• Able to work with diverse learners in arts education.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing lesson plans and materials for visual arts projects across grade levels.
• Set up and organize the classroom, including art supplies and safety.
• Provide individual/group assistance to students on projects and techniques.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to students and lead teacher.
• Assist in integrating art history and theory into hands‑on projects.
• Support exhibitions and displays of student artwork.

Education
