CAPITOL REGION EDUCATION COUNCIL is seeking a Visual Arts Artist Instructor for CREC Academy of International Studies Middle and High School in Bloomfield, CT. The role focuses on developing engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and coordinating with staff to showcase student work.

The candidate will have extensive arts experience across mediums, strong communication, and a track record of working with middle/high school students.

Qualifications

• Eligible for State Department of Education Adjunct Instructor Permit.
• Bachelor's or higher in an arts field and relevant teaching experience.
• At least 180 hours of experience working with children in educational settings or equivalent teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Develops engaging visual arts curriculum, lessons, and projects.
• Assesses lessons and meets diverse learner needs.
• Maintains attendance, grades, and communicates with parents and staff.
• Collaborates with other art instructors and non-arts teachers on school projects.
• Supports school events and showcases student work.
• Performs non-instructional duties as needed.
