Job summary

St. Edward's University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, beginning August 2026.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate biology courses and possibly Human Anatomy & Physiology, with a typical load of 4 courses (12 contract hours) per semester. Candidates must hold a master's degree or 18 graduate hours in biology; a PhD is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or 18 graduate hours in biology or related field.
• PhD in Biology or related field preferred.
• Experience teaching undergraduate biology courses.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and teaching lecture and laboratory courses in General Biology and possibly Human Anatomy & Physiology; 4 courses (12 contract hours) per semester.
• Teaching other courses in the curriculum as needed and related to the candidate's area of expertise.
• Supervision of undergraduate teaching assistants.
• Other duties as assigned.
