Job Description:

The Department of Educational & CounselingPsycholog y at the School of Education, UAlbany, ismultidisciplinary and devoted to research, teaching, and service inthe use of psychological principles to promote lifelong growth,learning, and development in multiple life roles and contexts. Fourdisciplines are represented in the department: Counseling Psychology , Educational Psychology and Methodology ,School Psychology , and Special Education . The mission of the division of counseling psychology is to contribute theoretical and empiricalscholarship that receives significant external recognition andsupport, and to prepare culturally responsive scientists andpractitioners capable of intervening to improve quality in multiplelife domains including emotional, relational, educational, work,and health.

This position will be housed in the Division of CounselingPsychology, within the Department of Educational and CounselingPsychology, with teaching responsibilities in the APA-accreditedPh.D. program in Counseling Psychology and MPCAC-accreditedMaster's program in Mental Health Counseling, and undergraduatecounseling courses. Candidates should be able to teachundergraduate and graduate courses in one or more of the followingareas: theories of counseling, group counseling, psychopathology,vocational psychology, assessment, cultural diversity, clinicalpracticum, internship, as well as other graduate counseling coursesas needed. This position offers a one-year appointment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Teach a 3-3 undergraduate and graduate (Master's and Doctoral)course load

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Counseling Psychology or equivalent from a collegeor University accredited by an accreditor recognized by the USDepartment of Education or by an internationally recognizedaccrediting organization by August 21, 2026.
• Applicants must address in their applications their ability towork with a culturally diverse population.
• Applicants must have documented experience, plans, and abilityto teach undergraduate and graduate courses in varying modalities(in-person, online, and/or hybrid).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training and/or experience supervising practica.
• Licensed, or license eligible, as a psychologist in New YorkState.

• Typical office/instructional environment.
• Online and in-person teaching.
