Visiting Assistant Professor – Biology

St. Edward’s University, a nationally ranked, independent Catholic university and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), invites applications for a full‑time, 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track position as a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, beginning August 2026. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach lecture and laboratory courses in General Biology and possibly Human Anatomy & Physiology. The standard teaching load is 4 courses (12 contract hours) per semester.
  • Teach other courses in the curriculum as needed and related to the candidate’s area of expertise.
  • Supervise undergraduate teaching assistants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess a master’s degree or a minimum of 18 graduate hours in biology or a related field. A PhD in Biology or a related field is preferred.
