Job summary

The Village of Maywood, Illinois seeks an experienced and transformational chief of police to lead the Maywood Police Department. The candidate should be a visionary, progressive leader who embraces modern, 21st century policing, community engagement, accountability, and ethical decision-making.

This role emphasizes transparency, DEI advancement, and effective management of a complex organization, with the Chief selected by the Village Manager and approved by the Village Board.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in criminal justice/public administration or related field; Bachelor’s degree in same required
• Completion of advanced leadership programs such as FBI National Academy or equivalent is highly desirable
• Minimum 10 years of progressive law enforcement experience with 3+ years in senior command
