Job summary

The First Baptist Church of Brentwood in Brentwood, NH seeks an ordained pastor to lead a multi-generational faith community. The role centers on shepherding the congregation, preaching, teaching, and guiding spiritual growth within a structure of boards and committees.

Compensation is commensurate with experience, with an option to reside in the church parsonage. The pastor will advance worship, discipleship, and outreach through active engagement with the local community.

Qualifications

• Ordained ABCVNH minister or eligible for privilege of call as per church bylaws.
• Degree in Theology, Divinity, or related field from an accredited seminary or university.
• Strong preaching, teaching, and counseling skills.
• Heart for collaborative ministry within a church with boards and committees.
• Personal faith aligned with The First Baptist Church of Brentwood's Statement of Faith.

Responsibilities

• Oversee spiritual well-being of the congregation in collaboration with boards and missions.
• Lead public worship, preach biblically based sermons, and administer the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.
• Provide spiritual guidance, pastoral care, and counseling to members and the community.
• Advise church boards, committees, and the Church Cabinet; manage church activities with Diaconate, Board of Trustees, and Board of Christian Education.
• Grow educational ministries including Sunday School and Bible studies.
• Participate in regional Baptist activities and work to increase membership within the community.
