Job summary

Williamson County ESD #1 seeks a transformative Fire Chief to guide a growing department, lead community engagement, and oversee financial and operational priorities.

The ideal candidate will bring a decade of fire and EMS leadership, advanced certifications, and a servant-leadership style to build a high-performing organization that protects lives and property in Jollyville and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in fire and EMS services, with at least five years in a senior leadership role.
• Texas Commission on Fire Protection Advanced Firefighter Certification or out-of-state equivalent.
• Executive Fire Officer (EFO) and related chief certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shape the department's identity and future direction.
• Develop and mentor the next generation of fire service leaders.
• Lead operational readiness and fiscal stewardship.
• Engage with community, regional partners, and stakeholders.
