Job summary

MercyOne Northeast Iowa is seeking a visionary Program Director to lead the 5-5-5 Family Medicine Residency Program in Waterloo, IA. This role combines strategic leadership with direct teaching of residents in ambulatory settings and oversight of education outcomes.

The candidate should be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine with a minimum of 3 years in clinical family medicine or as core faculty in an ACGME-accredited residency. Inpatient and admin experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical Family Medicine experience and/or core faculty in an ACGME-accredited residency program.
• Inpatient and administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a 5-5-5 Family Medicine Residency Program.
• Provide strategic leadership for program development and expansion.
• Actively teach residents in ambulatory clinical settings.
• Oversee resident education, evaluations, and performance outcomes.
• Inpatient medicine and OB involvement optional.
• Office call 1:4, with nurse triage; no hospital call.
• Lead 1–4 program-wide quality improvement projects annually.
• Deliver 10–12 didactic lectures per year on diverse topics.
