Job summary

The Center for Vision Development in Austin, TX is seeking a passionate part-time vision therapist assistant to join our team. You’ll work closely with doctors and therapists, helping patients of all ages and providing hands-on support in sessions.

Ideal candidates are organized, reliable, proactive, and enjoy helping others. This small, close-knit practice values teamwork, growth, and a warm, patient-centered approach. Open 5 days a week with Mon/Wed 9:00am–7:00pm.

Qualifications

• Related experiences in communicating with patients and families.
• Ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Willingness to learn and take initiative in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with patients of all ages, assisting vision therapists in evaluations and therapy sessions.
• Collaborate with optometrists and vision therapists to maintain a high standard of care.
• Administer, score, and input results from visual processing evaluations.
• Assist with scheduling make-up vision therapy sessions.
• Communicate with team members regarding make-up sessions.
• Maintain a clean, organized therapy room and clinic environment.
• File testing into appropriate charts.
• Prep patient charts.
• Maintain inventory of VT supplies and handle deliveries.
• Create new patient binders.
• Refill frequently used hand-outs in clinic and VT room.
