Job summary

McCain Foods USA, Inc. is seeking a Vision Systems Technician to provide daily maintenance and technical support for ADR, Peel Scan, Sizing, and Sorting equipment. The role includes updating procedures, training operators, and being on-site for startup readiness and on-call coverage.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot machine operations with operators, maintain spare parts, document settings and regularly test performance while adapting to changing priorities and workloads.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two-year degree in Industrial Controls/Instrumentation or equivalent is preferred.
  • Pass E & I Level 9 written advancement test with at least 80%.
  • Pass E & I Level 9 hands-on advancement test with at least 80%.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day maintenance and technical support for ADR, Peel Scans, Sizing and Sorting equipment.
  • Maintain and update written procedures and train operators.
  • Be on-site for startup readiness and on-call support.
  • Discuss machine operations with operators to optimize performance.
  • Ensure spare parts are stocked and documented machine settings.
  • Perform regular testing of machines to measure sorting and defect removal efficiency.
  • Adapt to changing environment and manage multiple demands.

About The Role

Provides day-to-day maintenance and technical support for the Automatic Defect Removal (ADR), Peel Scans, Sizing, and Sorting equipment. Maintains and updates written procedures. Will also provide operational and technical training to operators. Will be available for call in support and be on site to ensure equipment is ready for start-up.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent.
  • Coordinates assistance with electrical and maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Discusses machine operations with operators to ensure optimal performance.
  • Ensures adequate number of spare parts are kept in stock.
  • Ensures proper documentation of machine settings by operators.
  • Maintains and updates written procedures, and teaches operators on testing procedures.
  • On-Call Requirement – Must perform on-call duties.
  • Be on site during shutdowns to ensure equipment is ready for start up.
  • On-site Requirement – Must perform duties onsite.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prior to placement candidate must have obtained all of the following four Pre-requisites:
  • 2 year degree in Industrial Controls/Instrumentation Or equivalent of two years work experience in plant setting in field of industrial Controls/Instrumentation and;
  • Pass E & I – Level 9 – written advancement test – 80% min score, and;
  • Pass E & I – Level 9 hands- on advancement test – 80% min score.
