Job summary

Raytheon Intelligence & Space, Vision Systems (RVS) Systems Integration and Test Department in Goleta, CA, is seeking a Principal Test Engineer to lead IV&V for airborne EO/IR sensor systems.

The role focuses on developing and executing test architectures, coordinating with PCE/LSE, and driving production testing to ensure high yield and performance.

Qualifications

Job description

Raytheon Intelligence & Space, Vision Systems (RVS) Systems Integration and Test Department is seeking a Principal Test Engineer with airborne electro‑optical and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting sensor systems. This is an onsite role located in Goleta, CA.

What You Will Do
  • Lead integration, verification and validation (IV&V), design verification testing (DVT), and production testing to support the delivery of EO/IR Focal Plane Array Sensor Systems.
  • Collaborate with the Program Chief Engineer (PCE) and Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) in the development of product and sub‑system requirements, IV&V plans, and production test design.
  • Pilot the development and execution of the test architecture from bid through production, own the test system design, and collaborate with and lead a multi‑disciplinary team to achieve these goals.
  • Manage execution and procurement activities in support of the test factory.
  • Partner with operations and manufacturing teams to enable efficient product flow, provide actionable metrics, minimize cycle time, and maximize yield.
  • Perform data analysis and modeling of test and product data.
  • Communicate with Test Management, IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customers.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience to include airborne and/or space EOIR system test, integration verification and validation testing, product transition to production or related experience.
  • Experience executing test methodologies for electro‑optical (EO) systems, including optical performance analysis and test verification for EO/IR focal plane array sensor systems or comparable development and production environments, in LABVIEW and/or MATLAB.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Requirements test development, test analysis, derivations, verification, and test validation.
  • Experience developing and/or executing factory test plans, procedures, and equipment to support an EO/IR Focal Plane Array sensor system and ROICs.
  • Experience analyzing EO/IR system performance and relating results to underlying design principles, component behavior, or environmental conditions.
  • Prior experience with ROIC wafer probing, fabrication, integration, verification, and validation for a complex EO/IR system.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment; power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters.

Salary range for this role: 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
