Job summary

CooperVision, a unit of CooperCompanies, is seeking a Packaging Operator in West Henrietta, NY to support the packaging department by processing lenses per work orders for distribution. This is a full-time, onsite role requiring adherence to SOPs and safety policies.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, strong hand-eye coordination, and flexibility to work extended hours including Saturdays when required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Packaging equipment, labeling machines, vial labeling equipment, glue gun, gluing equipment, computer terminals and Trim Press
• Normal Warehouse Conditions.
• Dusty conditions > 75%
• Hot or humid conditions - Exposure to extreme seasonal temperatures > 75%
• Wet conditions None
• Exposure to chemicals or solvents None
• Work near moving mechanical parts 25-50%
• Standing 25-50%
• Walking < 25%
• Bending - Bend forward at waist to touch object at 6" above floor 50%-75%
• Stooping/Couching 50%-75%
• Kneeling - Kneel on 1 or both knees for critical time period – 1 minute < 25%
• Squatting - Bend at knees to touch/grasp object 2" above floor level < 25%
• Twisting 25-50%
• Pushing/Pulling – 20# force < 25%
• Reaching – over an obstacle 48" high to grasp an object at same height a distance away from obstacle of 18" < 25%
• Hand/eye coordination > 75%
• Finger/wrist dexterity > 75%
• Grasping/pinching > 75%
• Coupling - Grip w/ dominant hand - 30# force > 75%
• Hearing > 75%
• Lifting up 20 lbs 50%-75%

Responsibilities

• Gathers product and material used for packaging as required by work orders.
• Inserts blister arrays or single blisters into equipment to be labeled, cut, boxed, or glued.
• Performs basic packaging and software operations.
• Manually packs product not packed by machine.
• Understands, acknowledges and follows quality requirements and all SOP’s.
• Understands and follows department safety policies and other company policies.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Works scheduled holidays in order to maintain service levels for customers.
• As business needs dictates, works extended hours to complete daily Packaging requirements.
