Eyeglass World, part of National Vision, Inc., is seeking a Part-Time Optometric Technician / Medical Assistant to support doctors, assist with pretests, and ensure quality patient care in a fast-paced optical setting.

Qualifications

• Retail/optical experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to learn optical terminology and procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Attention to detail in patient information and paperwork.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain professional atmosphere and appearance of the doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases and ocular abbreviations.
• Explain to the patient the types of preliminary examinations.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and/or patient information and identify special needs; consult with optician/doctor as needed.
• Fill out referral forms and follow-up paperwork as required.
• Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
• Ensure equipment is properly maintained.
• Order and maintain supplies and pharmaceuticals as directed.
• Follow all store and corporate policies and procedures.
• Participate in mandatory communications meetings to stay informed of changes.
