Job Summary:

The Mammographer performs diagnostic mammographic procedures in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures to ensure the best possible patient care services are delivered.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Performs all mammographic procedures and views according to established department protocols.
  2. Performs tasks associated with proper execution of mammographic examinations, reviews radiographs, completes documentation, and ensures timely delivery of images.
  3. Performs cleaning and restocking of work area, demonstrates correct positioning skills, and participates in quality assurance initiatives.
  4. Provides radiation protection and demonstrates competency across all procedures for adult to geriatric patients.
  5. Performs RIS transactions accurately and reports equipment malfunctions.
  6. Communicates effectively with hospital staff and physicians, assists in scheduling, and exchanges relevant patient information.
  7. Contributes to a positive team environment, demonstrates flexibility, and communicates with clinical staff as needed.

Supports healthcare through credentialed diagnostic and supportive health services, contributing to Vanderbilt's reputation for excellence in patient care and medical science.
