Job summary

Trideum Corporation seeks a Virtualization & Emulation Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of large-scale virtualized simulation environments supporting Army modernization initiatives.

You will develop and sustain the Digital Engineering environment, including virtualized End User Devices running ATAK, UAS controllers, and tactical routers, deployed on Government lab hardware at Fort Belvoir.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with distributed Linux systems, containerization, hypervisors, and large-scale node orchestration.
• Strong proficiency with Linux networking and system-level debugging.
• Experience designing, scaling, and supporting virtualized testbeds or simulation architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain brigade-scale virtualized node environments supporting distributed simulation activities.
• Lead containerization and orchestration of ATAK EUDs, UAS controllers, battlefield routers, and compute nodes.
• Implement scalable deployment pipelines enabling rapid configuration, test, and update cycles for Digital Engineering environments.
• Oversee integration and deployment of virtualized systems onto Government lab infrastructure, ensuring performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support interoperability with relevant models and middleware services.
• Diagnose and resolve system-level issues related to virtualization and networking.
• Contribute to design of system architectures for multi-node distributed Linux environments.
• Minimal travel required

Position Summary

Trideum Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Virtualization & Emulation Engineer to lead the design, scaling, and operational maintenance of large-scale virtualized simulation environments supporting Army modernization initiatives. This engineer will be responsible for developing and sustaining the Digital Engineering (DE) Environment for digital twins, including virtualized representations of End User Devices (EUDs) running ATAK, UAS autopilot controllers, and tactical routing nodes, and ensuring their successful deployment and operation on Government laboratory hardware at Fort Belvoir.

What You’ll Do

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Architect, build, and maintain brigade-scale virtualized node environments supporting distributed simulation activities.
• Lead containerization and orchestration of ATAK EUDs, UAS controllers, battlefield routers, and associated compute nodes.
• Implement scalable deployment pipelines enabling rapid configuration, test, and update cycles for DE Environment Twins.
• Oversee integration and deployment of virtualized systems onto Government lab infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and reproducibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support interoperability with OneSAF, communications and network models, and bridging middleware services.
• Diagnose and resolve system-level issues related to virtualization, networking, and distributed software execution.
• Contribute to the design and refinement of system architectures supporting multi-node distributed Linux environments.
• Minimal travel required

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with distributed Linux systems, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), hypervisors, and large-scale node orchestration.
• Demonstrated experience designing, scaling, and supporting virtualized testbeds or simulation architectures.
• Strong proficiency with Linux networking, virtualization tooling, and system-level debugging.
• Ability to work on-site at Fort Belvoir for integration, testing, and support activities.
• Active Secret clearance
