Job summary

Edmentum is a remote-first education company delivering live, on-camera Social Science instruction to middle and high school students. We empower teachers to personalize learning, engage learners, and use data to drive instruction in a flexible virtual environment.

Deliver 5+ hours of synchronous instruction daily, collaborate with partner schools, and leverage Edmentum tools to support student success. Requires a Bachelor’s in Education and an active state license in Indiana or Minnesota

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Active state teaching license in Indiana or Minnesota (Social Science 6-12).
• Experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings.
• Hands-on experience with online learning platforms and virtual instruction tools.
• Data-informed: read student performance data and adapt instruction accordingly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to manage a full remote caseload.

Responsibilities

As a Virtual Social Science Teacher , you bring your classroom to life through a screen: connecting with students in real time, personalizing learning for every individual, and creating an online environment where students feel seen, supported, and motivated to succeed. Live, synchronous, on-camera instruction is the heart of this role — it is what our students, families, and partner schools depend on every instructional day. This role is for educators who thrive in a fast-moving digital environment and who believe that great live teaching is the core of great learning, regardless of the medium.

Deliver live, on-camera synchronous instruction for five (5) or more hours per day, every scheduled instructional day, creating an engaging and structured virtual classroom experience that inspires student participation and achievement. Use student performance data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps, and adapt your approach to meet each student where they are.

• Collaborate with school partners and Edmentum colleagues to ensure students receive consistent, high-quality support across their learning experience.
• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field and an active state teaching license in Indiana or Minnesota in Social Science grades 6-12.
• You have experience teaching in virtual and/or in-person settings and are comfortable with the unique demands of a live online classroom.
• You have hands‑on experience with online learning platforms, virtual instruction tools, and standard productivity software.
• You are data-informed: you know how to read student performance data and use it to adjust your live instruction in meaningful ways.
• You are an excellent communicator, in writing and verbally, and you know how to meet students, families, and colleagues where they are.
• You are highly organized and self‑directed, with the time management skills to independently manage a full student caseload in a remote environment.

The salary range provided reflects market research, the responsibilities of the role, and alignment with our compensation principles.
