Job summary

ACCEL Schools LLC is seeking an Intervention Specialist for OHDELA, an online K-12 academy delivering a flexible, standards-aligned curriculum with 24/7 access. The role focuses on supporting students with IEPs in a virtual setting, while occasional in-person travel for testing and events is required.

You will collaborate with teachers to implement intervention strategies, conduct assessments, and facilitate IEPs, ensuring growth in academics and social-emotional development for diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Experience in full room inclusion or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Interpret abilities and disabilities to support intervention strategies in classroom settings.
• Conduct diagnostic and functional behavior assessments.
• Write and implement IEP goals and objectives.
• Facilitate IEP meetings and coordinate with families.
• Plan and monitor progress toward student achievement and equity goals.
• Engage in planning for non-instructional activities and events.
• Travel to support in-person state testing and events several times per year.

OHDELA (Ohio Distance and Electronic Learning Academy) is a tuition-free, K-12 online school dedicated to transforming education through a state-of-the-art virtual experience. We offer a flexible, standards-aligned curriculum delivered by highly qualified teachers, providing 24/7 access to learning. We are seeking Intervention Specialists who are excited to create a rigorous and nurturing classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. ACCEL Schools uses a cutting-edge 21st-century curriculum, which can be accessed online and through a variety of traditional methods.

The Intervention Specialist supports the educational and behavioral goals of all students with a focus on students with an Individualized Education Program.

Please note – while this is an online school position and all instruction occurs virtually, travel and face to face attendance will berequiredseveral times per year to support in person state testing and student events.

Aboutthe Opportunity

• Work cooperatively with classroom teachers, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students,assistingin classroom intervention strategies,modifyinggeneral educationcurricularas necessary, andassistingthe student with regular class assignments
• Conduct diagnostic assessments for instruction
• Conduct functional behavior assessments
• Write and implement behavior improvement plans
• Facilitate IEP Meetings and write IEP goals andobjectives
• Relentlessly work to meet all goals related to student achievement and culture as well as state specific achievement goals
• Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and instruction
• Integrate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues
• Serve as advisor for a designated set of students
• Communicate regularly with familiesregardingthe academic and social-emotional growth of their child
• Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips
• Perform other duties as assigned

About You

• Knowledge of State Standards and Common Core Standards
• Experience working in a full room inclusion type model or Co-Teaching in a Resource Room model
• High levelof comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
• High quality written and verbal communication skills
• Highproficiencyin Microsoft Office products including Word and Outlook
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI)
• Experience working in a multi-cultural setting preferred

The Company reserves the right tomodifythis information at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law. The annual starting salary for this position is between $48,000 – $52,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
