Job summary

Memorial Healthcare is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join the Outpatient Nutrition team. The role delivers virtual medical nutrition therapy for patients 12+ across GI conditions, collaborating with GI providers to tailor evidence-based nutrition care and support symptom management and sustainable behavior change.

The RD will provide one-on-one and group counseling, document in the EMR, and participate in ongoing education to uphold hospital mission and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dietitian license in Michigan (CDR).
• Minimum 5 years of nutrition care experience in GI populations.
• Experience delivering counseling in virtual/remote settings.
• Strong knowledge of GI conditions and evidence-based nutrition interventions.
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage scheduling for virtual visits.
• Availability to meet Eastern Time hours.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual nutrition assessments and provide individualized medical nutrition therapy for a broad range of GI diagnoses.
• Develop practical nutrition care plans tailored to patient symptoms, needs, preferences, and goals.
• Provide initial and follow-up counseling, monitor progress, and adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with GI providers to coordinate care and communicate recommendations.
• Complete timely documentation in the EMR.
• Facilitate virtual group nutrition education classes as needed.
• Serve as the nutrition expert for the Gastroenterology practice.
• Provide safe, evidence-based recommendations guided by ADA guidelines.
• Pursue ongoing education to maintain best-practice standards.
• Maintain organized, clean assessment areas and participate in monthly staff meetings.
