Job summary

Royal Electric is offering an internship in our Sacramento office, starting Summer 2027 with the Virtual Construction team. You will gain hands-on experience in BIM modeling, room layout design, and 3D modeling using Revit, while collaborating with senior engineers and modelers.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in Architecture, Electrical/Civil Engineering, Construction Management, AI, or CS programs, with familiarity in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and basic coding.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a college program focused on Architecture, Electrical or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, AI, or CS.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and coding techniques.

Responsibilities

• Design room unit layouts for installation using digital drawing tools.
• Collaborate closely with VC Modeler 2 to ensure design accuracy and coordination.
• Create stub rack spools for prefabrication by building precise 3D models and breaking them down into spool sheets.
• Gain hands-on exposure to Revit for BIM modeling and design workflows.
• Participate in coordination meetings by shadowing VC Modeler 2s to understand cross-collaboration.
• Contribute to modeling projects as assigned, involving ceiling lights, wall panels, transformers, and other electrical components.

We are currently accepting applications for Interns for our Sacramento Office location. This opportunity will be starting Summer 2027, working with our Virtual Construction team.

The Virtual Construction intern will gain hands-on learning opportunities that support their professional growth. Put your education into action by assisting our Virtual Construction team!

Responsibilities:

• Design room unit layouts for installation using digital drawing tools.

• Familiarity with the following:

1. AutoCAD
2. Microsoft Suite
3. Coding skills & techniques

Safety & Physical Requirements

• Must wear proper PPE while on jobsites.
• Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Sit, stand, and walk during the duration of the workday.
• Will lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Internships will look different based on a candidate’s direction, goals, and schooling.

Salary Range:

• $22-$27
