Fairfax County is seeking a Child Care Specialist III - Program Supervisor to oversee the Virginia Quality Birth to Five Area Supervisor role. This position involves managing local CLASS observations, collaborating with regional partners, and supporting observers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience in program management.
Under supervision of the Program Administrator I, the Child Care Specialist III will serve as a Virginia Quality Birth to Five (VQB5) Area Supervisor for the Ready Region Capital Area (RRCA). The RRCA includes the counties of Fairfax and Arlington, and the Cities of Fairfax, Falls Church, and Alexandria. The VQB5 Area Supervisor will be responsible for building local CLASS observer capacity for the RRCA through recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of observers. The role involves managing local CLASS observations, collaborating with regional partners, and supporting local observers in Arlington County and Alexandria City.
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to: Graduation from an accredited college with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education, psychology, social work, or related field, plus three years of relevant professional experience. Valid driver's license.
Completion of criminal background check, Child Protective Services Registry check, and driving record check.
Primarily sedentary but may involve walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate equipment and visit early childhood programs. Must be mobile enough to attend meetings and make presentations.
Panel interview, possibly including a practical exercise.
